MORGAN LIBRARY

This project was a partner project redesign of the cube, Morgan's Grind and third floor of the CSU Morgan Library. This project was in partnership with Herman Miller, therefor all furniture and material selections are Herman Miller. My design for this project was chosen as the winning design by Herman Miller for the redesign of the Cube in the Morgan Library.

This project was done in two phases. The first phase was research and the second phase was design.

The methods in which we used to preform qualitative research included observations and interviews.  In our observation research we used unobtrusive observing in which we analyzed what we were seeing in the physical environment with out disrupting any behaviors going on through out the space. We took detailed field notes on what was happening around us and noted noise, circulation paths, way finding, lightning, amount of students per space in comparison to location, activities, items brought and left behind, and other observations of what was happening. Continually we spoke with Colorado State University enrolled undergraduate students, interviewing them each with the same questions, discussing what they use most in the library and what they would like to see, as well as when and where they use the Morgan library amenities most.
