Fam Bam
My parents are here!!!
I have been to so many unbelievable adventures through out New Zealand in the past few months. Though nothing compares to having my parents in Wellington. The country of New Zealand is breathtaking. The only thing better then getting to explore all that it has to offer is getting to share the experience.
I could not be more grateful to have had the opportunity to share my new home in Wellington, the capital of the country.
With the short time my parents were here we managed to do just about everything in the city, all by foot. On a day-to-day basis you get a work out walking around the hills throughout the city of Wellington. However walking the city and touring the city with my parents, was a whole new work out.
Upon my parents arrival we went down to the waterfront to take in views of the city from Oriental bay. We also made our way up to the top of Mount Victoria to get a 360-degree view of the city and the ocean.
We spent the following day shopping and taking the cable car up to the botanical gardens. From the top of the cable car you can look out upon the city center and the water. We then walked down through the botanical gardens and had lunch in the rose garden.
The following day we took the 7 AM ferry from Wellington to Picton on the South Island where we spent the day shopping and playing pool. Picton is a tiny beautiful little town. However it was just our luck that it was a rainy day and we spent the day inside the restaurants and shops. Although the Ferry ride was a fun experience! The water was a striking aqua blue on the ride over (my mom and I may have seen a shark, or possibly a lone dolphin still up for debate).
On my parents last full day in wellington we went to a super rugby game with a few of my international friends. We watched the Wellington Hurricanes take on the South African Kings!
Although it was a quick visit it was a well needed visit from the fam. We had a great time exploring the city and trying just about every restaurant and café there is (my dad may have tried every flat white coffee that is offered in the city of Wellington). The group favorite however was the small French bakery on Featherston Street!
Thanks for coming to visit me!
